Investigation last night, and upcoming

Last night investigations were held at Spring Gardens Car Park in Town Centre and Barbury Castle, just between Wroughton and Chiseldon.

We've also heard from a social worker about a council office where a number of staff have reported instances and we've been cleared to go in (before it's too late!)

That time of year again!

It's the time of year for what is becoming the annual PSI recruitment.

PSI is the organisation which runs the Haunted Swindon Project and its investigators and researchers regularly investigate locations in Swindon.

Competition for these places is very stiff and whilst no previous experience is required we have to be quite strict, at last year's recruitment around 100 people applied and we could only take on two!

This will all be happening quite soon, so if you're interested do log on to www.p-s-i.org.uk and enter your details in the top right-hand corner to recieve updates.

Diary full for the rest of the year!

The response the Project has been so positive that we are fully booked for the rest of 2007. This includes half a dozen outdoors locations, the Wyvern, a Fire Station, Stanton Farmhouse and Milton Road Baths.

However we do always leave some 'wiggle room' in case an urgent case arises.

Latest Investigations

This weekend the team investigated the Pinehurst Community Centre for the second time, as well as the Council owned Stanton Park.

We returned to the PCC prior to it being demolished because of several unexplained events that took place last time. Like a good scientific unit we returned and successfully explained them!

Stanton Park was a great location with a great team of rangers who were most helpful. The park reported some of the 'classic' signs of woodland paranormal activity.

Return to Wyvern and Pinehurst

Most investigations yield virtually nothing in terms of meaningful results.

However the investigations of the Pinehurst Community Centre and Wyvern Theatre provided sufficient ambiguous data to warrant a return visit.

We should return to both places before the end of the summer!

Website: 10,000 hits in less than a month!

The Haunted Swindon website seems to have gone down less, with more than 10,000 hits so far; with the site being online less than one month!

I hope people continue to enjoy it.

Haunted Swindon Media Launch

After our recent press release to local and regional media we have been pleased with the response it has generated.

This evening I was interviwed by local commercial radio station, GWR fm. The interview will be aired on tomorrow's news bulletins and invites people who may have had experiences to come forward and share them with the project.

We are due to film a segment with ITV News in the coming days which will hopefully further raise the project's profile.

7th March update: The Adver and the Gazette and Herald have picked up the launch and should be running this week. The Western Daily Press will also be running on Friday and BBC Radio Wiltshire and Brunel FM will be airing an interview soon.

Update: BBC Points West are also in talks with us about a feature.
